Enlarged liver

My liver is 23 cm on cat scan is that very enlarged or not too much? What is the normal range? I have had a liver biopsy and it did not show cirrhosis but my liver and spleen remain enlarged. Thank you in advance!

That is on the high side. Above 16 would be a typical large. Since you had a biopsy it suggests that it is probably pretty full of fat and probably inflammation as well. Your pathologist should have commented on any scarring so if you don't have that it is good but fair warning to make the changes to deal with the fat.

Thank you! There was no scarring just fat, I have lost 25 pounds so I was surprised that it was still enlarged

Well, it took years to get that big so it isn't a fast process to change it. It took mine about 18 months to show much progress, of course, I had spent 50 years getting up there.

Mine was 19 cm, no scarring just large occasional RUQ pain.

Mine is 20cm, lost 35 lbs so far but still have RUQ daily pain. But like Nash 2 has said, patience. Keep eating better, exercising and the fat will slowly get better.
