Hi! Is here anybody who had elevated liver enzymes (AST, ALT) for a long time that went back to normal eventually?

I wonder if there are other people here with elevation of ALT and AST that lasted for longer time, eg. several months and whether the levels went back to normal? And how long did it take? Mine are elevated for 4 months already. I’m just curious what I might expect?

Elevated enzymes don't tell you a lot by themselves but they are a warning that your doc should figure it out. A lot of things can affect them, some are temporary some are not, and it is important to understand it.

Yes. I had F3 NASH and elevated enzymes for 5+ years. My enzymes are now completely normal thanks to my diet and lifestyle changes that i finally took seriously. It took me 9 months, so be patient.

Hi! Thanks for your answer! You really made my day!!!! You are so positive! I tried to improve it within a week and that’s foolish idea. It’s not just long-term but a lifetime matter.

Really I didn't think that was possible myself. If you don't mind me asking, what diet are you on?

70 percent plant based 20 percent Mediterranean with an emphasis on fish, and 10 percent "cheat" (red meat, but not junk food, etc.) Glass or two of wine once a month.

Hi Grapewizard! May I also ask whether the enzymes were decreasing gradually over the 9 months or were they the same and then a sudden one-off decline happened?
