Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone can give me some ideas for things they eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I seem to be getting very bored with things I'm making and just wanted some other ideas.
Thank you
Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone can give me some ideas for things they eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I seem to be getting very bored with things I'm making and just wanted some other ideas.
Thank you
for snacks try the plant based fast bars from prolon. they r about 200 calories, are delicious and liver friendly. There are 3 flavors. Delicious with black coffee, which your liver loves as well.
Thank you for responding. Is it bad to use a non dairy creamer in coffee?
Generally, yes. It's main ingredient is corn syrup (ie sugar). It's best to get used to unsweetened nutmilk to lighten your coffee. If you need to sweeten it, stevia is the only acceptable thing. Whole Foods actually has (there own 365 house brand) liquid stevia that tastes better than the powders - you only need a few drops. Black is best though.
I love overnight oats. I have eaten them very regular for at least 2 years and NEVER get sick of them
I always have wanted to try them they look so good. Do you use almond milk
1/4 cup old fashioned oats 3/4 cup almond milk (less if you like thick)
Dash of cinnamon
1TBS of chia/flax/coconut mix
Raisins
Shake up. (I make 4 at a time)
I spoon in unsalted almond butter and slithered almonds before I eat them.
Sometimes I add diced apples.
Get used to them cold. I use mason jars , I would invest in some screw top lids. The metal ones get annoying.
Soooooo good
I also got an air fryer recently and it has made things so easy. I make salmon , mahi, or cod in it at least a couple times a week and I’m constantly roasting veggies in it. You can make a whole spaghetti squash in 20 min
Try fish in it. Last night I put bakers in it, so amazing. I know potatoes and rice are not good for you but for me that is so much harder to give up than meat!
I have still been eating potatoes and I know I should not be. Rice i did switch to brown but so not the same and I very rarely eat it. Roasted potatoes are hard to give up.
Bellaranger I’m with u on the potatoes part. I’ve switched it up to brown rice and sweet potatoes. Maybe give it a shot. 🤷🏾♂️
It gets hard because my family doesn't like everything I have to eat. Then I have to make separate for me.
Lol. I think that’s how it was at first here but my daughter and wife r actually starting to eat the same meals as me. Makes it easier too and much more healthy on our bodies.
Breakfast. Get a rotation going. Egg whites with herbs and sliced avocado one day. Whole oats with a teaspoon of almond butter (no sugar), cinnamon and ground flax on the other. One day a week do 2 eggs scrambled or over (in olive oil) with a little feta crumbled on the side. NO BREAD! Drink 3-4 cups of coffee in the morning. I just found an Oat Milk Creamer with 10 calories and 1gm of fat. Organic. No corn syrup, etc. Lunch: Green Smoothie every day. I also add tumeric.
Afternoon Snack: Organic quinoa chips with some organic hummus dip; Hot black or green tea
Dinner: Try to eat on the earlier side - like around 5pm. I try to do a plant based protein 4x per week. I make a 3 bean chili, or lentil meatballs for example. Always lots of veggies. Only whole grains (brown rice, quinoa. One day a week i will do a brown rice pasta with some broccoli rabe. The other 3 days i will have either chicken or fish.
Dessert: handful of almonds; a small piece of organic dark chocolate (no added sugar; at least 70% dark), fresh blueberries
I've lost 23lbs in 4 months and have reduced my BMI down to 22-23.
My strict guidelines are NO SUGAR, NO REFINED CARBS, NO MEAT, NO PROCESSED FOODS AND NO ALCOHOL. NONE. ZERO. EVER.
I also run at least 4-5x per week and do some resistance training.
I expect to completely eliminate my fatty liver. I'm already a F0 for fibrosis -- 4.61 Kpa on my last Fibroscan.
I will ultimately allow myself an occasional glass of red wine but for now im completely abstaining until i reach my goal
You must be militant and very disciplined but you can do it.
TNWONDER... Any thoughts on the whole grain wheat triscuits as a snack... Search the internet says they are best cracker snacks
Justice - im sure the whole grain triscuits are fine. Looks like it only has 3 ingredients which is great. That's a great point as well. The ingredients in anything you eat should be minimal. I just would just watch out for the sodium and it should only be a snack not half the box at a time. Portion control is key. For example, i usually only have a handful of almonds for a snack. Dark chocolate is only a small piece. Couple of bites. I do not allow myself any "cheat" days right now because i'm only 4 months into my mission! I was never "overweight", but i had too much sugar and carbs in my diet. For example i used to have coffee with cream and 3 sugars every single day, bread and pasta were staples! I figure when i reach my goals i will allow myself an occasional glass of wine with dinner (that will be my "cheat" days).
Thank you so much for all the food ideas. I'm doing really good but just bored of eating same thing everyday. So thank you. I will definitely try some of these suggestions. You cut out ALL meat even chicken
I often eat sautéed onions and red and green peppers with a little bit of garlic. I also eat avocado toast on Dave's Killer bread. Sometimes just a grapefruit. If we are on the road I try to do eggs and fruit or a veggie omelet with fruit, tomatoes or whole wheat toast.
