Can someone explain a Fib-4 score of 1.78? Also, how does the age of 68 affect the score? The calculator says something about it being less accurate in those over 65.

Hi Blue
That puts into a category that needs more testing. Remember, this is calculating a probability so it is not a diagnosis but is a guide to next steps. A value below 1.3 shows a low probability of fibrosis. Above that we suggest a FibroScan or other test to determine a diagnosis. At 1.78 your score is not very high so you probably do have some scarring but it is probably not high yet but needs to be tended to. Age factors in because we just naturally suffer more damage as we age. It isn't meant to be a perfect measure but gives a guide to next steps. My personal score is about 4.8 and I am doing well so don't panic but do continue to actively work at managing it.
