Diagnosed with NASH. I have now developed allergic reactions to a number of foods which results in allergic rhinitis when I eat. Has this developed in anyone else. I’ve read that Mass Cell Activation can be a predictor of liver disease severity.

Histamine Intolerance and Liver Disease
Well, that all gets pretty complicated. Mast cells are a key player in allergic reactions and many people struggle with allergies without having liver disease. However, in the context of disease the entire inflammatory process is involved with NASH. Mast cells are a bit unique because they become covered with antibodies that your immune system produced so no two people have exactly the same mast cell response. Since mast cells are everywhere in the body it would be difficult to use them diagnostically in an organ specific way except through a biopsy. A lot of sudden allergy development is a result of mast cells being turned on by something like a particular food that your immune system responded to for some reason. There is a lot that is unknown about it.
We can develop new allergies any time. Our bodies change and so does our response to different foods and outside antigens. I have NASH but have not noticed any new allergies just the same old ones that I've had for many years, e.g. cut grass, cats, tree pollen and dust.
