Diet for fatty liver disease patients
You might be best cutting back on simple carbohydrates - sugars, breads, rice etc in favour of other food groups. You will also need to ensure that your calorie consumption is no more than your body needs or, if you are overweight, is less than your body needs. This will ensure that your body does not lay down more fat and utilises stored fat that you already have.
Do NOT drink any alcohol! and eliminate all fast food. I usually suggest a Mediterranean diet as this diet concentrates on veggies. Try to eat clean. NOTHING PROCESSED! Eat organic as much as possible. This will help take the fat off your liver and you can avoid Cirrhosis as this cannot be cured. Veggies, Turkey, Chicken and fish (watch mercury levels) concentrate on shrimp, salmon and crab. Nothing deep fried. You will be fine as you lose weight the fat will come off your liver and you will feel better. This will avoid the more serious disease of cirrhosis.
The best bread to eat is seeded whole grain.
My doctor put me on the Mediterranean diet he stressed no processed grains. He also wanted me to start drinking 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day. I do my labs every 2 weeks all my numbers are coming down some are actually normal which they haven't been in 20 years
I’ve found this book helpful for dietary guidance; It’s called “Skinny Liver” by Kristin Kilpatrick audible.com/pd/Skinny-Liver...
Here’s a great article. healthline.com/nutrition/10...
Stop all carbs and intermittent fast. Carbs are poison to your liver condition and fasting let’s your body heal.
