Cholesterol vs Fatty Liver

Has anyone heard that cholesterol meds (statins) raises liver enzymes??

Do not go near stains! they are Liver toxic! That is what my GP told me! If a Dr says about putting you on them please quries them!

Yes it does, I was on Lipitor and Crestor for 10+ years, when Liver enzymes came back high doctor would take me off until they returned normal. I now have NASH and Cirrohos. I truly believe the statins contributed to causing this, it's a catch 22, High cholesterol can cause Heart Attacks and Strokes, if I had known all of this I would have not taken them. Cirrohos and everything that comes with it is a horrible way to die. But like with Cancer and Chemo it is a personal choice only you can make. Wishing you the Best.

Yes, I took them for many years and when enzymes we're high my Doctor would take me off of them until blood was normal, I truly believe the Lipitor and Crestor caused or worsened my Liver. I no longer take them but run the risk associated with high chlostrol and triglycerides.
