Hello everyone,

I’m new here and wanted to say hi.

I have just finished a solid food vacation for a month and I’m now slowly adding foods. I am also adding a weekly dry fast to help kill off bad bacteria and yeast.

Thank you for having me here...

Hi, happyseal , welcome.

How long do you dry fast for?

Before Covid I was doing a monthly 68-hour wet fast... I think I will start doing it again.

Why did you have a "solid food vacation for a month"?

Do you have allergies?

Do you need to lose weight - or are you just improving your health and life expectancy?

Are you on the Low-Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet?

Do you Intermittent Fast (IF)?

I have been IF and LCHF for two years now, and I have lost 5½ stone and have improved my health beyond recognition.

I have been building up the length Of my Dry Fast. So I am used to 24h. My last Dry fast was 36h. I’m going for 36h this time, but if I feel fine I’ll stretch it a bit. Always being safe, of course. My last 36h, I felt nauseous exactly at 36h, so that was a threshold.

I don’t have allergies but have intolerance to yeast and flaxseed. I have been having some of the symptoms for Candida overgrowth and SIBO, as well. It didn’t matter what I ate. I would get flatulent, bloated, constipated, etc. Plus toe nail fungus and dry dandruff. All matching the list for Candida overgrowth. So the solid food vacation would give my digestive system a break, clean up intestines, etc.

I also need to lose weight. I’ve lost 7kg in a month liquid fast ( master cleanse and juice fast). Which is not a massive amount but I haven’t been able o lose weight no matter what. I also know that if I’m not careful I can gain it all back and more.

Oh... and in just a day of dry fast I achieve more fasting results. The detox I feel is like I’m in a 4th day water fast. Last time in the 36h I lost 1.5kg.

I didn’t do the solid food vacation for the weight loss, but to reset my body and improve health. Obviously I welcome the weight loss and will try to keep it off.

I do IF daily. Usually in the morning. But I don’t lose weight or anything with IF. I do enjoy how it makes me feel, tho.

I’m vegan so it’s hard to do a very strict LCHF. But I try to be around 100g of carbs. Sometimes I’m able to go lower. But most vegan protein sources are high in carbs. It’s sad to say but a high carb diet doesn’t agree with my body. However, I love the spiritual aspect of being vegan.

I do want to adopt metabolic confusion. So I’d change the length of IF more frequent, and have a carb day every 2 weeks or so. My body adapts really quickly, a great hoarder...lol
