Welcome to the forum.

S11m wrote an informative post here healthunlocked.com/fasting-... all about fasting.

Rather than diving in straight to fasting because that's often hard to maintain, a useful first step is to keep your current meal times, but cut out snacks in-between and to NOT eat after 7.30/8pm every night. Once you're comfortable with this regime, then you can move on to making the eating window shorter.

It's important to remember to eat enough of the right food in the eating window otherwise you'll quickly crash and burn in the fasting period.

Thanks a lot Naz88 I’m rereading your text/information and will proceed with due diligence!👍

You're welcome. It's not my article though. All credit goes to S11m

Hi Liz888, welcome to our friendly forum, please check our 'Topics' for others experiences and advice on fasting, naz88, has posted an excellent link by S11m.

Here's another link How to prepare for fasting:

I hope that you enjoy fasting and it works for you, my advice pre fasting is to make sure that your body is well nourished prior to starting a fast and start gradually so you ease your self into a more robust/longer fasting periods.

Please feel free to use our my fasting experience and my fasting diary Topics.

Jerry 😊

Thanks, Hidden and Hidden .

I am glad you appreciate my post - what about making it a "pinned" post?

in reply to S11m

I thought it was...my fault.

You are the expert, Hidden - can I automatically follow any new post?

in reply to S11m

Hi S11m now lets not get carried away...Yes you can follow a post as long as you're a member of the community however its also important to have your notifications set so that you get notified of a reply.

I'm sure that you've noticed but I pinned your fasting post.

Thanks, Hidden .

I thought that you could set it up to get notifications from all forums of which one is a member - can we do it for just one forum?

in reply to S11m

A misunderstanding S11m, as long as we're a member of a community we can follow posts, I just added that we have to have set how we get notifications, as we have many choices, please see:

My content and Messages

Email me when someone responds to something I've written

Email me when someone sends me a private message

Communities

Email me when someone creates a post in my communities

Email me when someone creates a poll in my communities

Follows

Email me when a user I follow writes a new post

Email me when a post I follow has new replies

HealthUnlocked

Email me announcements, and occasional news, tips and insights from HealthUnlocked

Contact me for research purposes (eg: clinical trial recruitment, surveys etc)

Email me when someone asks a question I might be able to answer

Email me reminders about the programs I am enrolled in

Digests

Email me a daily summary of what's new in my communities

Email me a daily selection of top posts in my communities

Email me a weekly selection of top posts in my communities

Email me a monthly selection of top posts in my communities

No digest emails

This is the problem - you cannot specify just one community.

Email me when someone asks a question I might be able to answer

I might try that.

Hi Liz888. I fast for around 14 hours from 4pm to 6-30am everyday. I have a proper breakfast, scrambled eggs and tomato on toast or boiled eggs. Porridge, toast and honey. Light snack around mid day and main meal around 3pm. I feel so much better and sleep really well. I don’t think I could fast during the day so this way suits my lifestyle. You will find the best way for you I’m sure. Take it slowly as Nazz88 advices. All the best x

Hi, Hidden , Welcome.

I am sorry I did not notice your post earlier - but I am glad that Hidden gave you a link to my post.

Please ask if you need any more specific information.

Hello Liz888,

I am following a 12:12 and eating 1400 cals with no snacks. Drinking plenty of water, herbal teas. Only just started a 12:12 a couple of days back, and was advised to get the body fully nourished. Although I find at the moment I am wide awake 04:26 which is strange. Not sure why?

I hope to get into 800 cals fast in a few weeks time. I think it is something that needs to be planned and well thought out.

Good luck
