I am fairly new to fasting, having begun almost 3 months ago. While my original intent was to help my husband with his health, I have received great benefit from fasting, as well. I am female, formerly a pre-diabetic who was sugar-addicted and 30 lbs overweight. Within two months, I am now 10 lbs lighter, no longer sugar addicted, nor in the pre-diabetic range. I currently adhere to the 16-8 schedule with a 24 hour fast thrown in 1 to 3 times a week.
I am happy to have found this forum.

Yes, I definitely watch the carbs which is essential for controlling the prediabetes. Before even starting to fast, we switched to the Mediterranean Diet, so we were eating pretty healthy before attempting to fast. I also believe in eating wholesome, organic food, so I make a lot of my own sourdough bread, almond milk, butter, etc. Honestly, I should have been born on a farm!
I plan to post about how I started fasting and the tips I felt were successful, but I will do that on a separate posting rather than embed it in this reply so that anyone searching for that type of info can find it easily.
I am a total convert to fasting, but not everyone in my circle of friends and family have been supportive, so forums like this are so helpful.
This is really good 1rocketman so well done and welcome to the fasting community, if you'd like an IF16 badge then please just say.
