What are your tips for fasting during a heat wave. ๐ŸŒž

Hi everyone,

When there is a heat wave our bodies are under more stress and we have to keep hydrated and cool as it is so what are your tips for fasting during a heat wave?

My top tips are avoid

1, Caffeine as its diuretic

2, Break your fast with fruit and veg

3, Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water

4 Try to keep out of the heat and seek shade preferably with a breeze

5 Consider taking electrolytes

So what are your tips and how do you cope with extreme heat and fasting?

I should know something about "Fasting in a heat wave"... as it was about 30 centigrade here during my last 68-hour fast. ...but technically it was not a heat wave.

I rarely drink water, but I drink plenty of green tea.

I usually break my fast with yoghurt and then a carvery, with as much vegetation as I can get on the plate.

I added electrolytes (Himalayan salt) to my green tea.

As I have lost four stone, mostly since last summer, I feel the heat less... but I did stay in the cool most of the time.

Hi S11m, I thought of you fasting with it being around 30C in the UK and they've had a heat wave which there has been across parts of the EU. So thought it would be a good idea to have advice about IF during a heat wave on F&F.

I think that you have done really well losing 4 stone so well done and you're an inspiration to others, so thanks for your added tips.

I drink plenty of warm water throughout the day ๐Ÿ˜Ševeryday whether hot or cold ๐Ÿ˜Šsummer or winter.We hardly get warm weather here in England ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ.Its good to keep our body hydrated.I add Himalayan pink salt in my water.I eat variety of fruits & real food.๐Ÿ˜ŠSome people eats whatever they want during their eating window but it doesnโ€™t work for me so I try to eat low carb, veggies & home cooked food.

I am doing 20:4 OMAD with warm water & 1 black coffee โ˜•๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜Šโ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Thank you avoid-sugar this is great advice and I know how healthily you eat.

Interestingly sea salt and Himalayan pink salt have lots of trace elements so seems to aid fasting.
