My daughter is 4.5 and we have been struggling with constipation for 2 years. Over the years we have done several disimpactations and we finally got it under control where she was on half a sachet if of movicol daily. But we find she’ll do really well for 6 weeks or so and then she’ll have a few days of no poo and we’re back to square one. We’ve kept food diaries but can’t find any patterns. She also gets really bloated and struggles to pass wind. She’s now started leaking wee just after she’s been to the toilet so I’m thinking it’s all connected. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

when you disimpact, do you achieve watery looking stools with no bits in for a minimum of three days straight? How quickly do you reduce the doses down? Are you taking her to the toilet after every meal. It takes a while for the bowel to shrink to it's normal size and in the meantime will put pressure on the bladder. It sounds like she hasnt potentially disimpacted fully.
Do a poo diary, plenty water and exercise. A good routine as much as you can will help. X
