4 year old constipated..or not?

Even before potty training my son I knew it would be difficult as his poos followed a pattern of being very small nuggets (no obvious pain in passing and very smelly) 5-6 times a day, for up to a week and then HUGE multiple poos for a couple of days and then the cycle would start again. He has been on movicol one sachet a day for over a year but this pattern still exists, but all small poos are in his pants and the big ones can be too. He is terrible at drinking, and a picky eater. School have been amazing to this point, but I live in fear of them sending him home etc. GP thinks it’s behavioural? I’m confused and frustrated- any advice? 🤞

If the GP thinks it’s behaviour should be referring him for psychological support.Sounds like the movicol is not working, I would up this to 2 sachets a day and see if that helps, also start a toileting routine daily. . After breakfast and dinner, may help get the bowels into a routine. Good luck
