Hi all, my 11 year old daughter doesn't poo in the loo and never has. We have been irrigating using a iry pump which works well but the gastro dr at our hospital suggested we try to retrain her over this lockdown period. He suggested adding in picosulfate to her usual 2 movicol per day. He was supposed to phone me with dosage etc but hasn't. I started off with 10ml and nothing, tried 15ml and she had a really sore tummy but was successful in getting a poo in the loo. I've tried increasing the movicol to 4 a day but that's not really making much difference.
Can anyone please offer any advice as to how much picosulfate you give to get success and what if any are the side effects and does she just have to live with them for the moment?
Thanks.

Hiya, I would be a bit cautious with picosulphate personally as it caused gastritis for my son.
My son also using irrigation and doesn’t poo on the loo- he does it in the bath as he can get into a better position that way. But still soiling constantly which drives me a bit mental!
He uses qufora balloon system.
It’s hit and miss at the moment.
If 15mls had a result that sounds positive. Personally I wouldn’t increase it past that.
Out of interest does your daughter still soil all the time?
