Has anyone on heres kid had cystoscopy done before?.my daughter is having a general anaesthetic this week to get cystoscopy done.im really hoping that it will give us some answers for her to find some sort of solution to help her.
She has had so much tests over the past 4 years - ultrasounds,x-rays,several types of medication, urodynamics, numerous input/output charts......so it would be great if something finally worked for her.

Hi there, yes my daughter has had a couple of them, I believe it’s the best way to see exactly what’s going on as it passes up the urethra and in to the bladder, my daughter has a complex bladder problem and like your daughter she has had many tests including the urodynamics, biofeedback training etc with no success, she’s had the Botox also, her consultant has been investigating for 7 years to solve her problems and because of the latest cystoscopy he was able to see exactly what needs to be done, she also has supra pubic catheter (mic-key button) which he used this tract as well to go through so he able to see clearly and she has an operation coming up either end of this year or beginning of next, we are very optimistic and praying that this will be the end of her troubles, wishing you and your daughter the very best of luck and praying you get answers xx
It sounds like you have been through a lot over the past 7 years.i hope that as you say their latest plan works out for your daughter.
I am looking for a concrete diagnosis so we can then help her cos up to this point they still don't know why she wets 10+ times a day and it's just heartbreaking to see her struggling so much on a daily basis.
Piper, I thought I'd share this with you. Some years ago, I had a run of UTI's. Not too common in males. With all the procedures your daughter has had, she should be "an old hat" at it. At least some of the mystery over what is going to happen should be gone at this point. I too was put under general anesthesia for a thorough look see at my urethra, bladder, the ureter from the one working kidney. I had explained to, and gave copies of the medical reports to the urologist. I was born with a hypospadias, a narrowing of the ureter from the good kidney. The doc was pretty impressed. He said that what they did for me was groundbreaking in adults, never mind children. Anyway, I woke up from the procedure with absolutely no pain at all.
