Hi did you go to the specialist for medications? My hear goes to you at this difficult time. My specialist say lactulose is not effective for constipation my daughter of 5 years old was prescribed picosulphate and dulcoease. However as doctor say kids must have routine of sitting in toilet 2ce a day at least x 10 minutes and should not rely on medicine. I need to enforce this early morning n evening with a timer. Happy to link with you
My son is 6 he sometimes soils and leaks a bit of wee, our specialist told us he’s supposed to sit on the toilet 4 times a day, 20 mins after food and do it for a minute for every year of their life so he does 6 mins we have Alexa so I set her for our timer. He’s at school so he does it morning and night as Its out of my control while he’s at school. We have also been told to get him to blow up a balloon as that action helps the poo out. He never tells me he needs to go but as long as I make him sit on the toilet twice a day he usually does have a poo on 1 of these occasions most days. He’s also on 2 sachets of movicol each day. Hope things get better for you all. Xx
You could try showing her my short blog which tells my own story in simple language. It is designed to discourage withholding, and emphasises that her poo will not disappear if she withholds it and will eventually come out in her pants.
Hi there I’ve just read your post and I can’t help but feel for you as I’m going through something similar but my daughter doesn’t hold it in, I think you need to go to G.p especially as it’s day 8 as she may now be impacted which is what my daughter has andthe longer you leave this the worse it becomes, you could try movicol sachets and senna but definitely get to g.p first, hope this helps and hope things improve
