So my 7 Year old has been on Movicol/Laxido for a number of years. We have had a really good 18 mths on a maintenance dose of 1 a day. He is now all of a sudden Soiling!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ but still doing type 4 poos. At least once a day. So surely he can’t have a blockage is this just him not needing the macrogols now?? I’m so confused x

Sorry to read this and I have no answer .... just came here because my little girl seems to have the exact same issue. She says “sorry I did a fart with accident” ( she is 3 and a half) and then it is very very watery 😔 fingers crossed we’ll find something xxx

Hi. My 4yr old was on movicol for 3 years and reached a stage of soiling multiple times a day. After several exhausting weeks I had a GP confirm he wasn’t impacted (felt his belly etc) then I took the decision to stop the movicol. This was a huge turning a corner moment and the soiling stopped. Another year of encouraging drinking, dedicated sitting on the loo, watching for tell tale signs of needing the toilet etc but now I’d say we are normal. We’ve seen a GP and a hospital pediatrician since just to keep tabs. I would suggest a follow up with your GP and maybe reducing the movicol gradually if they agree. Maybe keep a chart of when he passes a poo too just to ensure the frequency doesn’t reduce. It sounds really positive you’ve had a great 18 months, hope you can resolve it ASAP.
