3 yr old having pooing issues

my 3 year old son has mild cerebral palsy, he has been toilet trained for a few months now, but recently been getting very constipated, the doctor has put him on laxido to help but now he seems to be soiling his pants on a few occasions. looking for some advice if this is just due to the medication starting to work and helping clear him out or if this is something that is going to be longer lasting, just wondered if anyone in same situation, thanks

Hi Gem. Have you looked at ERIC's guide to disimpaction? Using the Laxido in increasing doses until your son has a water poo is the only way to actually treat the constipation. If constipation is present but not treated with enough Laxido, then the poo traffic jam is still there, and the soiling would be very unavoidable. There is a lot of advice our Helpline team can give about disimpactions including instructions on how to change the taste, how to help your son to drink all of the sachets each day, and to how to get your son in a toilet routine that works for him and suits his needs.
