Hi, I have a 10yr old who messes herself everyday.it comes and go, sometimes she says she can't feel the poop coming out sometimes she says she feels it. What could be the cause of this? It has been happening since she left nappies.

She may be impacted. Has she tried movicol? Has a doctor felt her tummy? Does she get tummy aches and do you know how often she is pooing and what type of poo it is on the Bristol stool chart? I would book a GP apptmt and talk it over with them and get a referral to your local continence service and school nurse and get the GP to prescribe movicol. It’s important to get health professionals on board as lots of us on here know it can be a very long process to get things better long term. There is loads of excellent advice on this site eg daily sitting on the loo at the same time with feet on a squatty potty type stool, changing bag always at school, getting school on board etc. Good luck and let us know how you get on xx
