Bullying 😞

I have been devastated tonight after finding out today that a girl in my daughters class said to another girl can you smell G.....( taking about my daughter) then the two girls laughed. My daughter sits right across from them and heard them, I think she was meant too. She said that she hadn’t had an accident but obv they have picked up on her issues. My daughter felt sad and embarrassed. I felt sick as this has been my fear for years. I don’t know how to deal with the situation. The little girl is a bully and has make nasty comments in the past to my daughter but never relating to her encopresis. Anyone have any words of advice on how to deal with this. Go to the Mum or the school ? My daughter has just turned 8 and is very shy.

Hi there I’m so sorry for you both. I know how horrible it is. My daughter had a similar thing recently , nobody actually bullied her directly but a comment was made by someone and she wasn’t sure who said it, but it was one of her friends who knows her problem telling someone else that started it. Anyway, luckily my daughter told her teacher who gathered up all the kids involved and demanded to know who said it. They said they didn’t know but she told them never to talk about it ever again and nipped it in the bud. Nothing else has been said since.

My advice to you would be to speak to her teacher. They can then speak to the bully and her parents if necessary. Nip it in the bud before it gets any further I think.

Good luck

Thanks for your kind words. I’m glad things were nipped in the bud for your daughter x I spoke to the school so we will see what happens.

Hi, I would definitely speak to the school first and if no joy I would speak to the girls parents. If I was told my daughter had been saying nasty things I would be devastated but would want to know. Do you know the said girls mum? And would you feel comfortable in talking to her?

Hi thanks for replying. I don’t know the girls Mum, I was just going to send a text asking her to have a word with her daughter in a nice way. I decided to speak straight to the school so we will see how it goes.

Hi ya. When I had this issue I spoke to the school and left it in their hands. The other thing I have done I have told a few parents about my son's issues so if their children say anything at home it can be shut down that way also.

Let us know how you get on, thankfully no-one has said anything to our son as yet, but its always a worry that their classmates will pick up on it. You've done the right thing advocating for her by talking to school. It might help other kids too, as bullies find any old thing to use against someone they want to pick on. Bet your daughter isn't the only one. xxx

Yes your right this little girl has a lot to say...just the type of child you don’t want to know about issues like this. I sent an email to the school and I’m going in on Tuesday, also my daughter said the teacher had asked her about it and said if she says anything else she has to tell her. I wanted the girl spoken to but I’m not sure that has been done yet. It all seems to be very softly softly !!!! Let’s not give anyway in to trouble but teach them how to be nice and while I’m all for teaching children kindness and respect sometimes I feel that they need to be given in to trouble !!!! 😤
