My 4 year old boy has been trained for well over a year and will quite happily use the toilet to wee. He has never got the hang of having a poo on the toilet and will only really use the potty. He has never willingly gone on the potty and will always start a little poo in his pants, does not tell me, so I then can tell he has soiled his pants and encourage him on the potty. sometimes he will do a poo, other times he will soil his pants again later on in the day-a little bit. so again I ask him to sit on the potty. he will then eventually do a full poo.

I have tried stickers, rewards, not making a big deal out of it, talking to him about it and nothing has worked. yesterday he soiled his pants twice, he starts school -reception in September so obviously I am worrying about this.

Any help/advice will be much appreciated, please.

Sort you are having this problem. Unfortunately I have no advice as you are a step ahead of my son, who will urinate on the potty or toilet but has never done a poo in one and no amount of bribery seems to help.

Fingers crossed we will both crack it by September.
