Has anyone actually had success with disimpaction?

My son has had chronic constipation since he was around 2, he’s now almost 6. We have done 6 rounds of disimpaction, we’re on our 7th about to hit the 2 week mark. Still not at the stage we are wanting it to be at. So thinking we need to add the stimulant. I’m honestly at my absolute wits end with all this! I don’t know how much longer I can keep going no one seems to understand how frustrating it is! Even having to get all 12 sachets down him everyday is a nightmare! I just need some words of wisdom here as I’m honestly so tired from this and just want to see the light at the end of the tunnel! FYI - his poo has an awful fowl smell which still hasn’t gone, it’s still not brown water, it’s very bitty, his belly is very swollen! He hasn’t eaten popcorn for over a week yet he’s still passing bits of popcorn in his poo which clearly isn’t great! Ugh someone help!

Hi, for sure add a stimulant, it can really help move things along. The consultants that we've seen all reccomend them, I know that gps can be reluctant but does make a difference. I suggest joining movicol mummies on Facebook if you haven't already to see lots of tips and stories from other parents. Also would recommend seeing a private consultant if that's possible- it's the only way we got anywhere with the right support.
