Our son is almost 8 and we have dr again this friday and we afe going to ask again for Meds for daytime wetting as this has been going on for years now.
Long story cut short he is100 % NOT constipated and have tried everything on eric site.
He also has a team of 4 nurses and they have nowhere to go on this also.
Hiya - so sorry to read your post, it must be exhausting for you and your son. My daughter is nearly five and does have constipation, an overactive bladder and dysfunctional voiding - which basically means lots of daytime wetting, but I can imagine it is really tough on an eight year old. We are now on oxybutynin and although not 100% dry, we have had a massive improvement.
I thought it might help to flag the clinical pathway for daytime wetting on the ERIC website so you can take this with you to the GP. eric.org.uk/flowchart-dayti...
If you can show that you've tried everything it basically leads you to try medication for wetting. Has he ever had an ultrasound to check if he is emptying properly? If they are still unprepared to prescribe I would push for a referral to a paediatric urologist as they will do a full bladder (and possibly kidney as well) function test and can prescribe directly.
