Help please! Baby won't take laxido

I'm new here, our 14 month old has been prescribed laxido but she absolutely hates it and I can't get it down her. We've tried mixing it with juice, milk, chocolate milk and with porridge. We keep it refrigerated so it's cool but she just spits it out. Has anyone got any other tips? I'm despairing as to what to do

I really feel for you! Sounds like you’ve tried a lot of options which can help kids take laxatives.

I’ve heard there’s a difference in taste between brands so maybe try movicol and see how that goes. It’s the same as laxido. I think there might be a chocolate flavour one too. My son prefers laxido to movicol.

We struggled at the beginning too. We started out by mixing one sachet of movicol with milk and then adding it to readybrek with shop bought puréed fruit on top twice a day. Our son got used to it that way and now he’ll take laxido mixed with water and milk with cinnamon or cocoa on top.

Hope you get some results. It’s tough when they’re that little and you can’t reason with them. Wishing you lots of luck.

Thanks that's a good idea i didn't realise they tasted different. And I might also try the porridge and pureed fruit idea!
