After trying to deal with bed wetting with drinking more and two toilet trips before bedtime, Benjamin has now started wetting during the day again. This is leaving hubby angry as he thinks Ben is just being lazy. I am trying to reassure both but not sure what to do as review not till end of month.
Started daytime wetting!: After trying to deal with bed... - ERIC
Started daytime wetting!
You don't mention how old Ben is or how long he's been dry in the day until now but you know your child best and it doesn't sound as if you agree with your husband that this is down to laziness! Is the daytime wetting big wees or just lots of little leaks. It may be that if you are pushing the extra fluid in, it's stretching the bladder and so will take a little time to adjust and regain control. I think our situation is different as my daughter is being treated for overactive bladder but we are trying to stretch the bladder to help control the muscle spasms and we were warned that when we did that the accidents were likely to get worse for a while before they got better so hopefully this is just a transition and will get better in time.
Benjamin is 9 and been dry for years. The new drinking regime to try and strengthen his bladder is at odds by being distracted by attention or playing
That's tough when he's been dry for so long but unfortunately playing is far more fun than dashing to the toilet at any age! In the past I've been told that no child intentionally stays wet, however, denying they know anything about it can be a coping mechanism so I think you're doing the right thing by trying to stay calm and reassure and hopefully it's just a reaction to the change in regime and will settle back down.
