Best bedwetting alarm

Hi, I've just joined this site in the hope that I can benefit from other people's experiences.

My son is 7.5 and probably had 10 dry nights ever, and never in succession. He is motivated to start an alarm system to see if it works.

He doesn't have a very large bladder capacity during the day, we are giving him regular drinks and regular trips to the toilet, but he struggles with holding it. I am sure this is his problem at night as he sleeps very deeply and if we wake him, there might be a small amount of wee in the pull up and he doesn't feel the need to use the toilet.

anyone else had this experience?

What are the best alarms for deep sleepers?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi my sons never woke up with bed mat alarms even though very loud, unfortunately we did and by the time we had got into them they were all ready wet and still asleep. We then tried the alarm which clips on to you and vibrates when wet this worked straightaway and over a period of time we saw a improvement but needed to use desmomelts along side this as well. My 8 year old was dry for 6 months and thought we cracked it but unfortunately has starting wetting again most nights, we've returned back to the alarm at night and desmomelts.

Has anyone else experienced being wet at night after a long period of dryness?

Many thanks 🙂

HI Susie, firstly to give you some hope, my daughter who sounds very similar finally seems to be dry at night having just turned 9! We tried an alarm a couple of years ago which clipped onto her pants ando had vibrate and alarm options. However at the time she just ended up sleeping through both! Then a few months ago I bought another one which does not clip but we inserted it between the layers of her pyjama pants - I preferred the clip one really - and only had an alarm option. This woke her up still and we had some success though not complete dryness every night. The turning point seems to have been a school sleepover and her realising she doesn't want this to happen anymore. We spoke to the school nurse who encouraged her to drink more in the day and go to the toilet more as well as just before going to sleep, and no drinks at bedtime. My daughter has made a real effort with this and it seems to have worked. Sorry for the essay! Good luck and hope that helps a little. x
