Hello, my 5 year old is chronically constipated and he has been started on Docusol. We are having real trouble getting him to take it, it makes him gag. Chocolate milkshake works, but I worry about the extra sugar in his diet. Please can anyone suggest ways to disguise it? He needs 15 mls a day. Thank you

Hi, I am not familiar with Docusol but my daughter takes daily Senokot and Movicol. I put the Movicol in Crusha milkshake as it is sugar free unlike Nesquik which is not. Crusha is a liquid and comes in a bottle with a cat on and is kept in the fridge. This would at least take away the worry of too much sugar x

Your pharmacist is a good person to ask about how best to give your little boy this medicine and tricks for hiding it.

We used milk to mask and sometimes lightly sprinkled choc powder. Often the bribe of a choc button after worked best
