knowing all i know now 3 years after surgery, I would have taken my chances and skipped surgery

I'm sorry to hear you have regrets luvbunda41 . I struggled with the same choice even waited a couple of years until I had to do something it's only been a couple of weeks since I completed radiation treatments but I'm happy so far with that choice.

Why would you have skipped surgery?

my Dr told me without surgery I had 5 years left. I found out later it was more like 10. My wife left and I fell into a heavy depression which almost cost me my life. I would definitely have waited. My Dr misinformed me.

That's a tough row to hoe for sure. I'm sorry to hear you went through all of that. The surgeons I initially talked certainly framed radiation in a way that wasn't entirely accurate. It's unfortunate that we have to do so much leg work to verify and validate what the medical professionals tell us.
