hello all

When I have a infection.. so far urine and chest I have different seizure to my normal seizures - simple partial .. deja vu

With this other seizure I start laughing then crying hysterically. My hand will move up and down like I’m slapping my leg if I position it there.

Does anyone else have these? I have diabetes so don’t get the feelings of an infection people without that.

Hi CherryF

Some people when they are unwell say this affects their seizures. Some people say that they are more likely to have seizures when they have an illness, such as an infection that causes a high temperature.. epilepsy.org.uk/info/triggers

The symptoms you've described sounds like focal seizures. epilepsy.org.uk/info/seizur...

I wonder, if your seizures are generally well controlled, the lowering of the threshold when unwell is letting these focal seizures happen.

It would be best to keep a diary to see if there is a pattern. Then discuss this with your epilepsy team.
