Hi missee

Sorry to hear u r suffering so much at the moment with it all! I hope u get some respite from it all soon!

I am happy to hear at least the nhs direct team didn't just fob u off and have suggested something. I know u would rather be in your own bed, but if it does become too much, do get yourself to a&e as at least they should have stronger pain relief and will help give u a break for a bit from the pain.

Sending you a hug of support x

Hi Misee

I replied to your previous post too about what happened to me in acupuncture and how it can make things worse if it is too powerful.

I don't tHink gabapentin will do more than keep you spaced out. You need time and rest to flush all the toxins that moved around through acupuncture out of your system. X

Reading about the new 111 service shortfalls to replace NHS Direct is rather scarey! Also, just got a letter from my GP practice indicating that you now cannot book an appointment face to face, you

ring and GP calls you and you describe over the phone your symptoms (this is to be rolled out across the UK in coming months apparently. The GP then decides if you need to have a face to face or just advice! Looks like the NHS is already cutting it's services! I really don't like the thought of trying to explain all my embarrassing symptoms and pain to someone I can't even see!

Cant believe that accupuncture made it worse. So glad i read this post, was considering it, but never considered how simple imbalances cause so much reaction with endo. So sorry u having a bad time misee. Feel better soon

Totally agree about the phone thing, only, unforunately, thats the way it is here already. (n.ireland) you ring up in agony, a receptionists asks whats wrong. She type a note for nurse (dear knows how accurate!) Nurse rings back to ask more questions, makes some notes (maybe 1 hr later!) and then later again the doctor rings (all depending on how busy they are). Last Sunday my hips froze i was in so much pain, couldnt walk or move! Poor hubby had to half carry me to bed (not in a romantic way lol) so i rang them. Dr said that seeing as i knew the cause and it wasnt an emergency all i could do was take voltarol and paracetamol- like that'd be ennough! no clue!

They already do this at my surgery and altho it may makes things better for them and i must admit i can get thro on the phone more quicker and yes if its minor they can make a prescription up and u just need to collect it at the desk, but ive had alot going on just now and when i last spoke to my doc over the phone i was getting upset and found that embarrassing. I do believe it will make people who waste doctors time less likely to annoy docs but when its more personal it defo helps to be face to face. xx

They are definitely widening the distance between you and medical assistance! Once upon a time you could actually go and SEE .............your doctor, bank manager etc, (real live human beings)!

now you might as well live on the top of a mountain as no one will actually see you! Oh well, I guess without technology we wouldn't be able to post each other from anywhere! Thank goodness for our pets, now they are always pleased to see us.

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a bad time. I have had lots of accupuncture and found it really helped but I mainly had needles in arms and legs and maybe only one or two needles in my tummy if I felt ok. It sounds like they have definately done a lot and this probably has put you off trying again but if you do I'd sugest only a few needles in legs/feet or arms. I've had a few twinges after from the needles, but on my last appointment I asked him to try and help with my leg/ hip pain. He did slidding cups which he did warn me was intense but I wanted to try it. My thigh was bruised after and I had 3 days of a lot of pain and needed painkillers but after that I haven't had the intense pain that id been suffering with so seems to have helped even though I had pain first. So I just wanted to give you hope that it will get better. Hope you get a good sleep and your body is recovering and feeling better soon x
