Breast issues and mirena coil

Since having coils fited (2mths ago) ive awful tender breasts which i know is a side effect of the mirena. But im drove soft with really itchy sensitive nipples which are nearly always erect (embarassinly so) is this also a side effect? Has anyone had this and if so how did u get relief? Thanks a million for any answers.

Not that I'm aware of, but then I've never in my life had erect nipple issues. they are just there doing nothing, staying the same, though sagging south these days.

The only time I have had tender boobs (after puberty that is) was when I have had an ovarian cyst about to burst. That's my forewarning sign, and others have reported that ovarian cysts can cause sore boobs too. The mirena can increase the likelyhood of small ovarian cysts, so perhaps it might be that, or simply the fluctuation in your hormone levels.

If you do have itchyness too then I would suggest you get that checked out with your GP. Any changes to breasts must be checked out, even if you think you know what has caused it.

Meanwhile wear a scarf over your outfit to drape over the obvious, or wear a jacket or thick woolly jumper. If you weren't so itchy I'd suggest sticking them down with a plaster or something, but as they are reacting that is definitely not on the agenda.
