I need help to make an initial claim for DLA for Endometriosis, it has severly disabled me and i have had to give up work eventually after stuggling with the condition for over ten years, i have had several operations and treatment to try and aliviate symptoms, on a daily basis i need help with getting up washing and dressing and cant walk anywhere. i shuffle around as best i can, soon having to return to bed, and take pain killers of Tramadol and Morphine which no longer aid relief. there is nothing i can do to make this condition better, i am incurrable and have to endure a life of misery from the pain daily, please i need someones help to assisst me with the DLA claim form...
Is there anyone on this forum that has been through this process or anywhere i can go to get help...???

I am sorry to hear of your severity. I came across this today on the Endo UK website, perhaps not completely helpful for completing, but maybe you can share your experience with them once you have done so:
Hi I have endo and I also work for the citizens advice bureau. Please contact your local bureau as they will have fully trained staff who can help you to complete your DLA form and they may also be able to help you find agencies and charities that can help you in other ways like having someone to come and visit you and help with some household chores or just have some company to break up your day. Best wishes Kx
Thank you both for the comments i did wonder if Citizens advice would be able to help, we have a mobile citizens advice bus in the village every Friday morning so i will go and see them for some advice...x
I helped my daughter with these forms and they are a nightmare. Citizens Advice is your best bet but also bear in mind you must fill in the form from the perspective of your very worst day. Also be prepared to find it a really depressing experience having to dwell on intimate details of your very worst times and then send them to a complete stranger. Then be prepared theres a good chance you may get refused or offered a low rate at first and this will be in the form of a horrible insensitively worded letter which seems to denigrate all those personal details. Dont take it personally and let it get you down - its just a computer and a system and the staff arent intending to insult you or accuse you of lying. But you will be able to appeal - we won 3 awards for full on appeal!! Dont give up it will be worth it in the end and treat yourself to something nice. Good luck
I have just recently filled one out as I am like you only I have only managed to work 3 weeks like that (I was in a nursery though) You are very string and brave to have held out this long. CAB is probably you're best bet and they're always lovely people so I 'd go with that. As for actually getting the money, don't hold your hopes up, I'm not. Unless it is visible, I don't think it counts to them so we have a fight on our hands but I wish you the best of luck and hope you get what you want.
Thanks Leyla, I'v had the worst two days ever, am crawling round house in pain, cant get up and down stairs, pain killers arnt working and dont want to go to hospital as cant stand the pain from so many pot holes in the roads....so am staying in bed, seeing GP again tomorrow, second Prostap jab due now, its ran out hence why i'm in so much pain......think hystorectomy is on cards for me am so sick of it now.....will try Citizens advice...x
