Lower abdominal pain after 3 procedures am I going mad??...

Due to endometriosis I had a partial hysterectomy in 2009 but,due to complications, the ovaries and part of my cervical stump were left. I still had monthly bleeds so had a hysteroscopy this did nothing so had course of prostap injections but side effects so bad had to stop them. Last march starting getting severe lower left pelvic pain which was, eventually, diagnosed as a large ovarian cyst. So had procedure number 3, both ovaries removed but cervical stump again left as now attached to bowel. Over the last couple months I have been getting the same pelvic pain with all the same symptoms such as pressure on bladder, back pain etc..

Am I going mad and imagining the pain? My GP has referred me back to my consultant but said " there isn't really much left inside there to go wrong". I feel like I am being a nuisance and fobbed off. Has anyone else had pains like this after everything's been removed? I am taking a combined HRT to keep the endometriosis at bay so presume it can't be that?

HI sorry to hear you are in so much pain i feel for you. What struck me when reading this was that you said that the cervix stump has been left as now attached to the bowel.

do you mean stuck to the bowel with endo? as if that is the case then that would be the reason for the pain because the endo is still there

hope you get all sorted soon x x

Thanks for the replies and the links. I don't know how the cervical stump is attached to my bowel they never told me. All I was told is that they removed both ovaries but not the remainder of the cervix as it was now attached to my bowel. I was too doped up on the morphine to ask anything and until reading what you said had presumed it was scar tissue. I had never considered it could be the endometriosis. My consultant came to see me the morning after the op said it had gone ok but she had had to make another incision as the cyst proved too big for lap then said I could go home next day.At my follow up I got to see a junior who told me the same thing and that they didn't need to see me again. I now have 2 large incision scars and 4 smaller due to drain etc and don't feel any better..... Like may other sufferers I have just and enough :0( ... My GP even said it may be scar tissue with some endometriosis in it but does that mean I have to put up with it for the rest of my life because that is how I am made to feel, I expect it will cost too much as everything seems to be down to money these days !

Eventually got to see my consultant, well one of her understudies as think she is fed up seeing me, and had the most painful examination I've ever had. I asked him to stop for a minute but he continued anyway and even though I have a high pain threshold he reduced me to tears. They are saying the pain is scar tissue and adhesions to my bowel. Prescribed me a mild laxative, even though I protested saying I have perfectly regular and pain free bowel movements and basically said I have to live with it as it is too dangerous to operate again. I am sick of being in constant pain, I have my GP saying it can be removed and the consultant saying no........ :0(
