Hi Nicky. I had stents in my ureter which have since been removed. My side effects were mainly discomfort weeing which could sometimes be quite painful, needing to go more often and occasional blood. Once they were removed, after a couple more Weeks of discomfort things were normal again. Have you other side effects? X

Hi ladies, thanks for your replies

Jalo how long have you had your stent in for? Do you know what your plan is? Is it staying long term? How are you being monitored?

Todds im the same i pee for England :) but this last week ive had quite a lot of blood, which i thought was my dreaded period returning, but it seems to be just on a morning when i have this fresh red blood, then by mid day its gone !!??

Not sure if i should be making an appointment to see my surgeon, or if this could be just normal?

Thanks so much x

Hi Nickym, i have a stent in both ureters since nov 26th. Theyve been placed during surgery because the ureters have got drawn into an endomass on my rectum so all fused together. The surgeons put them in to guide them with the op but decided it was too complicated and referred me to specialist in Southampton. They went in to remove the endo on the rectum not knowing this had also happened! Another fine mess that Endominx causes!!:( Anyway i have been told that they mustn't stay insitu for longer than 6 months. The next stage for me is a hysterectomy along side the other op. Im waiting for the appointment for surgery which is probably going to be April. The specialist endo surgeon suggested they may leave them for another 10 days post op.I have to be honest and say this hasnt been a very comfortable 3 months so far. Its always painful when i wee, if i walk for long periods of time it feels like i have stabbing in my urethra..cant explain that one, ive just finished antibiotics for 5th uti. I have never had a uti until these came along. I just hope that normality resummes after theyve gone.I had blood in urine for the 3 days post op then it started to clear. I cant feel them in my kidneys or bladder but can only guess they are agrivating something to give me the discomfort i get in the urethra. It may be worth seeing your gp for possible uti re. the blood. My gp did say he wouldnt be suprised if he ever found some in my urine samples! J x

If you are worried then definitely get yourself checked. I hope you get them out soon! Like we haven't got enough discomfort to deal with!! I was shocked at how long they are but so happy to see them go. It hurts when they pull them out but it only takes a few minutes. One more step down on that road to recovery! Good luck Nicky x
