Anyone had MRI scans x
Hi I had and MRI when my abdominal/pelvic pain was under investigation.
Nothing showed up, my endo was found during surgery.
Big cysts, lumps etc can be seen with MRI for gynaecological checks.

hi there, ive had endo for 10years i have allsorts of scans and treatment, infact there isnt anything out there that i havent had. Your normal ultrasound scan rarely shows endo, also MRI gives them a better image, but dont be worried if they say nothing showed up, it doesnt mean you dont have endo it just means it wasnt clear enough in the scan. Alot of the time the only way for them to confirm endo is by doing a simple laparoscopy.
Hope this helps
Hi Jojo
Yes, I've had an MRI scan. It was used to check the extent of the disease...(I.e. to see I had recto-viginal endo). It is also used to check if there is also adenomyosis present which can't be seen during a lap or regular scans. x
Hi Jojo, I had an MRI scan when I was referred to the consultant I'm seeing now. It was of my stomach/pelvis area as that was where my pain is mostly. It showed I have adenomyosis in my womb. I have had endo symptoms since 2006. At the moment I'm trying the Mirena coil to see if it will help with the pain (it's been 5 months and no difference) but the pain isn't confined to one area so I still have suspected endo so will have to have a lap at some point.

Thanx for replying i feel bit better x
I had an MRI after my lap as the surgeon couldn't see all the endo properly for some reason. If you're having it before a lap make sure you push for a lap if they tell you the scan hasn't shown anything x
Ive had both MRI and CT scans done recently. My current surgeon prefers the CT scan as says it gives him a clearer picture, but all the results are mumbo jumbo to me.
Good luck,
Hi there - I had an MRI scan and it confirmed endo and adenomyosis which had been missed during a lap the previous year... You need to make sure the person "reading" the scan images is pretty efficient as I think it is a fine art. Good Luck!
