Hey Lillystar,

I had the mirena for 7 months and had a horrible time with it. It aggrivated my PCOS resulting in lots of painful cysts and massive bloating. I had trouble sleeping. Overall it caused me a lot of stress and pain. I also have a retroverted uterus so I suspect it was sitting at a funny angle. When my gyn removed it she could see on the ultrasound that it had also irritated the lining of my uterus. I made her take it out and I went back to normal in about a week. I hated that bloddy thing.. grr.. If youre not happy with it it's really simple to have it removed. I just went onto continuous birth control instead. Hope you feel better. <3 xx

I have had terrible night sweats, but hadn't connected them with the coil. Silly really as I have had hell on the coil. I really want it out, but not sure what else to do as I refuse to have Zoladex and that is the only other treatment I have been offered. I was starting to worry that I have some dread disease. I think I will have another chat with my GP. Thanks for asking this, you have made me think!
