Not confirmed Endo

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I’ve not been diagnosed with endo however i’ve been given the option if i want to go on the waiting list for surgery to see if i do. The only symptom i have is bloating so i’m really unsure if it could be this. I don’t have any pain or painful monthly cycles- Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi, can they put you on the waiting list for some more gastro investigations too? The laparoscopy surgery waiting lists are epic (over a year where I am) so you could go on it, spend time doing some more research/getting a second opinion, and the see how you feel when it comes up?

I have bloating but lots of pain too. I’ve had all the gastro tests and an ultrasound. I’m on the waiting list for an investigative laparoscopy.

Hope that helps a bit x

Hey,

I think they have put me on the waiting list just need to chase, booked another gastro appointment with a specialist to see if he can give me a second opinion to try rule it out as i get 0 pain at all, literally just bloating.

I have had bladder tests, 2 ultrasounds for cysts etc and everything is clear but because of no other symptoms just worry’s me to have surgery to find nothing.

I feel for you that doesn’t sound good :( Thank You for your help x

Hi, if its just bloating and no other endo symptoms..why is surgery an option? if your looking to investigate endo ask for an mri scan ( best way to diagnose)

Recommend seeing an endo specialist to discuss also

Bloating can also be.. like u say gastro related, ibs, intolerances

Hi , I’ve seen a private endo specialist and he said you can never say never but he doesn’t think i have it but if i really wanted to have surgery to rule it out i can do as i’ve been having the bloating a year and half now. I have ibs however i don’t eat much at all, ive cut food out, had blood tests for allergy’s etc and everything is clear. I’ve never previously had bloating with my ibs as it’s very well managed and hardly have any of the symptoms now apart from the severe bloating. I’m seeing another specialist soon i will ask him what he recommends as i don’t want the surgery just because i have one symptom. Thank You xx

Have you spent time eliminating things from your diet? This would be my first instinct. Are your periods bad? I'm not sure that I'd want a lap at this point when you could have an MRI (although they don't pick up superficial endometriosis very well). Do some more research as others have suggested and make some big lifestyle changes if you haven't already x

Yes i’ve eliminated a lot of things, tried gluten free etc when i’ve had the blood tests and they’re clear so i know i don’t have any intolerances related to celiac etc. My periods are heavy but i don’t have the awful pain where i am bent over in agony. No one has suggested a MRI scan which is very weird i expected to have one already, I will do thank you for your advise xx
