Hello, I am new to this chat and have recently been diagnosed with diffuse adenomyosis just over a year ago after many scans over the years.
I have just had scans for Endometriosis as deeply painful right ovary for many years and pains that go into legs and feet also other intramenstrual & bowel & bladder issues. Waiting for an appointment with a specialist gynaecologist and don't really know what to expect and wether they will ask me to go for a laparoscopy as I appreciate that scans don't always conclusively provide diagnosis.
I have been reading about anti inflammatory diet and wondered if anyone finds anything helpful as I do find certain things like caffeine and gluten seem to not help.
Of also be very appreciative of any one explaining if they have had any benefits from tens machine for pain relief.
Thank you.

Hi, I found changing to a more anti-inflammatory diet made a big difference to my endo symptoms. It takes time, but for me it was worth sticking with it. It can take a bit of experimenting to find out if there are particular foods that make it worse for you. For me it was wheat and sugar and I also found caffeine and alcohol made things worse.
I also found a TENS machine helped, although only when the pain level was very high and I had to keep trying different settings until I found one that helped.
Yes a lap would usually will find Endo as comes in a range of colours as Adhesions but sometimes its still transparent..
As the areas around Ovaries can be effected a common area being the Bowel, Pouch of Douglas, Sacral nerve which add to pain down legs, in groin, across the back and belly.
I have found cutting gluten and lactose helps the bowel to cope with transition, reducing some inflammation also I use Fybogel Mebeverine sometimes to help. I don't eat foods with Estrogens now also due to my allergies I don't eat foods with Histamines in, following a Low Food Map.
The TENS Machine for me has helped greatly.
It takes a while to find what setting suits. I use the Back setting. I put the electrodes at the furthest point on my sides of hips. I firstly set the level to 3 or 4 so the brain senses it then turn down to perhaps 2 so it's a tiny tickle. Within 10mins the pain reduces.
Also online I buy Belladonna and Fennel Tea for cramps. The Belladonna I only use when other painkillers appear some days for know rhyme or reason to work.
I have noticed a big difference from just increasing the amount of anti inflammatory foods I eat and reducing inflammatory foods. I haven’t cut anything out all together and have been able to enjoy eating what I want over Christmas which I’m shocked about, but have probably been consistently making these changes for 3/4 months.
If you can get help from a nutritionist who specialises in women’s health, that really helped me to work out what works for me. I also took various supplements for a time such as NAC and I take omega 3 daily.
The only thing I have cut out actually is caffeine as bladder symptoms have always been an issue for me, I have reduced my alcohol intake, I use the Yuka app to avoid processed foods/foods with additives and preservatives, I eat loads more anti-oxidants so seeds, nuts, blueberries etc. daily. I also avoid bread that’s not sourdough and that doesn’t have a good score on yuka. At home we eat mostly brown pasta or rice, and alternatives such as bulgar wheat.
Hopefully some of that is helpful! I would say it’s definitely worth giving it a go but you don’t need to stress yourself out sticking to anything too strict in my opinion, just give it time.
