Having my Laparoscopy next weekend

After about 10 years of back and forth with doctors I’m finally having a laparoscopy next weekend for a diagnosis/treatment!

Very nervous about the outcome of it like what if they don’t find anything at all or what if they find it’s really bad. Many thoughts!

How long after do they tell you the results of it? Is it straight away on the day?

Hi

I had my diagnosis lap in 2022. After finding a surgical team willing to do it. That's half the battle sometimes. I went in and was out the same day. The surgeon didn't do anything inside because he said when he opened me up it was a mass inside everything was stuck to everything. Frozen pelvis. He came to see me about 5 hours after I came around before I was discharged and then I had a followup after 4 weeks where we had a more in depth discussion about next steps. My actual surgery to deal with it didn't take place for another 79 weeks! It's normal to feel like what if they don't find anything....I was thinking that because for nearly 15 years all I was told was my scans were clear. Until I saw a general surgeon who took me seriously and he put me on the right path.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Wow, that 79 weeks must have felt like a lifetime but I’m glad you managed to find someone that eventually took you seriously.
