I have been fortunate enough, well at least I see it as such to have made my way through the waitlist more quicky than I anticipated and I will be having an investigation laparoscopy on Thursday. At the moment from ultrasounds and MRIs they have indicated they it could be stage 4 Endometriosis and Adenomyosis and effect my bowels and I think it may be as far up as my kidneys and potentially by appendix.
This is obviously all yet to be confirmed until Lap as my surgeon has said this is the best diagnosis.
My question or help is, does anyone have any recommendations for recovery and assistance of how they moved forward post surgery and management. Obviously the usual has been discussed, pregnancy and have the coil fitted during surgery which I have currently refused.
I'm opposed to birth control as ever since I came off BC I have realised just how much it had affected my mental health and I'm struggling to wrap my head around having to go back on it as a form of 'management'
My partner and I would like to start trying next spring but I'm also hesitant as I know that pregnancy again is just a very temporary solution and clearly not a long term solution so would also like to hear from those who have chosen different paths for management or containment.

Hey, it might be worth reading something like ‘heal endo’ as they talk alot about management through life style and the idea of stopping it from progressing/developing with things like nutrition, exercise & yoga/stretchinh/meditation. I personally find that 10 mins of yoga & deep breathing each end of the day works wonders. Also eating loads of anti oxidants and avoiding inflammatory foods. I also eat very little highly processed foods and red meat but make sure I increase my protein intake with loads of nuts, seeds & oily fish. I wish so much I’d known all this when I had my lap so I could have maybe stopped it from coming back.
I also take Deinogest which you can ask about but it is hormonal so you’d have to see how you go. This is meant to repress it and is not a form of birth control.
Hope some of that’s helpful, good luck with your surgery.
