Hello everyone,

Is anyone having trouble getting Dienogest from their local pharmacy? Mine can’t say when it will be available.

Thanks

Hi, I have to contact my gynae department to request dienogest for me and prescribe it to a pharmacy .

Hi, yes I have it on repeat prescription, the pharmacy just can’t get the stock in this time 😬

So do you stock up in advance? What are you going to do if they don’t get it in time? I thought you need to take the meds without a break?

Yes, you do need to take them without a break. I’ve got my GP surgery helping now so fingers crossed.

Ask the pharmacy to give you the bar code number for your prescription so you can go to another pharmacy. Once you have the code, you can try anywhere else and if they don’t have stock move onto the next.

Thank you, I didn’t know you could do that.

you can get dienogest over the counter in Spain also. My parents live there, if you’re struggling pain wise waiting for the dienogest to come into stock

Thank you, I’m hoping my GP surgery can help. I do have a few weeks spare.

Oh goodness this is scary. Yes, I had trouble getting it this month, I was told there was an issue with the manufacturer (Zalkya), they substituted it with another brand, Dimetrum which I cannot take as it contains lactose - Zalkya is the only brand that doesn't. I had to have a friend take me to 4 pharmacies, thankfully the last one happened to have one box in stock but now I'm afraid for what happens next month. It sounds like there may be a problem :(

Yes, it is scary. You were lucky getting the last box. Hopefully the issues get resolved soon. We don’t need the worry on top of everything else.

Yes it seems so! So scary. For me it's stopped my periods for about 10 months now and had such a big impact on quality of life (in that I actually have some now). I'm still in pain but I'm at least somewhat functional. Isn't it scary how dependant we are on it :( I really hope you can get yours soon xx

I’ve got 5-6 months worth here that isn’t going to be used. I will check it’s still in date and can post it to you if you like?

That would be amazing, thank you! Could you direct message me if they are date?
