Normal or Robot Laparoscopy

Hey, I’m due my 3rd Laparoscopy in December. My first 2 have been ordinary extraction surgeries where the surgeon has removed my endometriosis themselves (I’m not sure the name of this haha). I’m waiting to find out if with my 3rd they will be using the Robotic method of extracting my endometriosis.

It’s the first I’d ever heard of it so I just wondered if anyone had any experience of both and could let me know how they found the experience, the differences, the recovery etc?

I have had a laparoscopy for fertility reasons & 23 years later a robotic laparoscopy for excision of endometriosis as well as full pelvic clearance. OMG, recovery from robotic laparoscopy for me has been far easier. Way less painful & I was so much more mobile far earlier. I would recommend that to anyone if you have a choice between the 2

Ah amazing!! I think they will review the MRI and see if there is any deep infiltrating endometriosis and if not it’s likely to be a robotic laparoscopy, thank you super helpful to know as the last recovery was pretty horrendous haha! 🙏

Robotic surgery means a greater chance of success really. Clearer screen and the surgeon doesn’t get fatigued! My recovery was rough but I know it would have been worse if done traditionally
