Hey, I take this and was told I could essentially take it indefinitely. I felt it made a real difference for maybe 6 months then I noticed the pain creeping back in. However obviously I don’t know what it would be like if I stopped taking it so it could still be that it’s working and would have been worse. I know some people don’t get on with it and have bad side effects but that’s never been the case for me, worth a go I’d say.
I have been on dienogest since July after my laparoscopy and removal of endo. The consultant also told me to stay on it for the foreseeable unless I’m trying to become pregnant. It had completely stopped me bleeding until today! And I’ve slowly noticed the last 2 weeks pains creeping back in. Not sure if this is just due to the random bleed I’m having or dienogest starting to not work as well. It’s hard to say as it has only been 3 months for me. The consultant very much made out to me I need to take this to reduce the likelihood/speed of endo returning and to control symptoms. But everyone is different and agrees with hormonal treatment differently! X
