Anyone been sent for a CT scan AFTER an MRI?

I am just wondering if anyone has experienced similar and can share their experience?

I had an ultrasound in 2022 during which they saw kissing ovaries, then a laparoscopy which diagnosed me with endometriosis. I am now being seen back at the hospital for them to make a surgical plan. They sent me for a pelvis MRI and then I got a call asking me to go for a urinary tract CT prior to my follow up appointment.

Has anyone had a CT after an MRI? What can they see on a CT that they wouldn’t be able to see on the MRI?

The person who called me to book the CT wasn’t able to help so I thought I would see if I could get any similar experiences here x

The different scans do different things I know, not actually sure what though, sorry. Gynae use MRI to see Endo as they prefer that one normally. I’ve had CT as well to check other organs.

Once you’ve had it done and see the consultant ask them, they’ll tell you why.
