Pelvic pain after laparoscopy

Hi all.

I had my laparoscopy 2 weeks ago, with nodular endometriosis being vaporised and my ovary being unstuck from my abdominal wall.

However, I am still in pain in both hips, and especially when I empty my bowels, which is frequently (sorry, TMI!) I haven't ever been told (or been checked, to my knowledge) if the endo has effected my bowel at all. It constantly feels like there is pressure and that I need to go all the time. I also don't seem able to eat as much as I could before (not that this isn't a good thing, as let's face it I could do with losing some weight)

Does anybody have any advice please? Should I be worried or will this pass?

Hi

Two weeks is still very recent, have you been trying to do too much maybe. It’s still a major op and your insides have had treatment. It’s easy to think it’s not major because of the small incisions.

Bowels do get effected by Endo, have you been to the loo properly or are you constipated? A small amount of diarrhoea can still be constipation. This is common after surgery and they should’ve given you some laxatives to take home.

If you have a lot of pain it can reduce appetite, if it continues you should get some medical advice.

Not what you're looking for?
