Can anyone give me the details of a BSGE accredited Gyne specialist that they have seen and would recommend in the North West? I know names aren’t allowed on here but if you could send over in the chat I’d really appreciate it!
I’ve paid £275 this evening for an eagerly awaited consult which was once again, extremely disappointing. And just reaffirmed my lack of trust in medical professionals. Rushed me through, didn’t know what I was there for (despite me sharing most recent medical history and scans beforehand) even took a personal call mid appointment. Insinuated my lack of intimacy could be due to length of my relationship, not the severity of pain which lands me in A&E. Stated my scan was nothing compared to another patient recently treated. Telling me to stick with the pill I’m currently on if it’s working for me, when I’ve literally just told you it’s increased my bloating/nausea and pain. Absolutely sick of my pain being talked down, feeling belittled. I’m at rock bottom, physically and mentally.
Why is this SO HARD. Absolutely gutted. 😔

oh no hun I feel ur pain.. u should have said I want laparoscopy as I need to know what is going on I mean that’s the whole Point of going private isn’t it? You know the specialist I’m under he’s really good..
He’s names Bedoya ronga and he’s based in Stourbridge
Didn’t even bother to ask about my symptoms. 😔 Any that I offered were just brushed off. He said i need the lap to see what’s going on and get a quote from his secretary but I’m absolutely not doing that. On to the next one! Thanks for sharing the details of yours I’ll have a look into x
About ten/fifteen minutes. It honestly seemed like he wasn’t even listening to what I was saying. Kept getting the pill name wrong despite me correcting him. I sent a letter beforehand to his secretary, with bullet points of history, symptoms and medication.. which they obviously didn’t even share. I’m just gutted. Think I should complain?
Yes you should complain and quickly. This is not acceptable. Keep it objective and don't get emotional but complain that it was NOT value for money and you want to see someone else. My private appointment lasted an hour that's what you are paying for - a full hour! He went through everything with me and was fantastic. Go back and complain- it's outrageous that they have treated you in thus way x
Tangoandmax I just wanted to say that I don’t think you should focus on how long the appointment took, my initial consult (which was virtual) lasted less than 15 minutes but I got off phone having felt listened to and my experiences validated. I had a clear plan of action that I was happy with. I didn’t feel rushed at all. It’s not at all about how long the consult was, but in your case the consultant did not take the time to explore and discuss your case to the level that you expected. Do feed it back (ie complain) as otherwise it may happen again.
Thank you. It was absolutely the tone and not the time, I genuinely felt like an inconvenience. My appointment was 7pm so maybe he just wanted to get home I don’t know.
