I have a new boss to the company so today I thought I'd tell her about my condition. I thought they needed to know as I will hopefully have an op sometime soon and I struggle at work. I've struggled for such a long time and as its in childcare it's physical.
I don't know what I expected but it just hit me hard that no one really gets it.
How hard this is and how much pain we are in, day to day.
You can try and explain but without saying all the horrendous things that we endure, people do just think it's painful periods.
No it's not! 😪
Just had to rant.....

hi, it might help if you give your new boss a link to the endometriosis uk website. They have an endometriosis friendly employer scheme where employers can get lots of info and suggestions for how to support their teams. X
Sorry about that experience on top of everything else. I would encourage to seek Occupational Health support - my physio advised because of back / leg pain. Speak to your HR.
I had to go through HR and OH. My manager has been wonderfully understanding and supportive.
I work in education. I had a phone consultation with OH and explained my diagnosis, symptoms and treatment. They wrote a report that I am fit for work but noted impact on absences and time off for appointments, etc. They also advised work to consider The Equality Act, and some adjustments - toilet breaks, standing desk when needed.
Hi, unfortunately we don't have OH as it's a very small nursery. The set up isn't adult friendly as in there are no chairs to sit on. We sit on the floor all day. Well up and down off the floor all day. I think the environment isn't for me and I need to leave. I'm just ploughing through whilst waiting for my operation but it's already been 13 months. 😔
