Hi all, I’m new here just wanted to come somewhere for a bit of support! I haven’t yet been formally diagnosed, my consultant ‘suspects’ Endometriosis and the next step is a Laparoscopy. Has anyone else been through the wringer trying to get seen? It’s taken me years to get this far and I’m emotionally and physically exhausted. My consultant gave me a chemical cauterization 4 weeks ago and said she would see me again in 3 months. My symptoms are worse than ever and I feel like this will never come to an end!

hey lovely! Unfortunately it’s very common that people struggle to get seen, and taken seriously. As frustrating as it is, we have to really push to get our voices heard, get investigations that are needed and get the answers we want. I’ve been under my GP for 7 years now and even though I’ve been diagnosed with endometriosis, they still know nothing about it and don’t seem to be interested. I’m finally under an endometriosis specialist now as unfortunately even the gynaecology consultants at my local hospital don’t know enough about endometriosis or take it seriously. Maybe have a look and see if there are any NHS endometriosis specialists in your area and push for a referral to them. Always happy to chat and answer any of your questions 🫶 xxx
