tingly numb leg on period. normal or endometriosis?

Hiii ,

I always have this days before and on my period. But this IS THE WORST ITS EVER BEEN.

I’m taking coedine with paracetamol. I’m going to see if I can find something better from the pharmacy or something as it’s probably nerve related.

The painkillers don’t do ANYTHING. It’s so so uncomfortable and feels the same.

Can this be a sign of endometriosis or is this a normal period symptom?

My stomach is feeling really weird not like usual- it feels numb and tingly and like someone is pressing down on my uterus…

Sometimes I do have debilitating cramps but not always.

I have pcos so periods aren’t always regular and I can have cramps outside of my cycle. Occasionally, I can get severe cramps.

Not always.

But this leg thing IS FRUSTRATING!!! What do I do now 😭😭

I have to wait until October to see a gynaecologist can’t wait any longer 😭😭im so worried.

To note , i haven’t been diagnosed with endometriosis

Hi,

I’ve been diagnosed with severe Endo and I get the leg thing. Painkillers don’t work but exercise (walking) helps me. I also don’t often get severe cramps and would describe most of my pains as dull aches and nerve pain.

tbh it’s gonna be hard to say here what it could be as everyone here who has it will also have endo etc so will associate it with endo and tbh it could be a number of things. All you can really do is ask to be referred to a neuropathic doctor and or gyno to work out what is causing it. :( sorry I can’t be more help. :(

Hi there, I can't answer your question about whether it's normal as I'm trying to look into the same thing so just wanted to say you're not alone! I'm experiencing restless legs and severe leg aches and shooting pains when on my period and also have no idea if this is normal or not. I'm being tested for pcos currently but feel my symptoms line up better with endometriosis. It's frustrating not getting straight answers!

I have had this for years in my left thigh. Prior to a lap in 2021 to remove an endometrioma, it was throughout the month due to the large cyst pressing on my back nerves (got to a point where I couldn't walk and 6 months later they diagnosed the endometriosis as my other symptoms are atypical). I have another cyst (not an endometrioma) which I am currently waiting to have removed but it's nowhere as large or heavy or obstructive to my general health. On the other hand, since that op 3 years ago, I now get a tingly pain in my left thigh just before and during my period (for about 5 days). I've come to a point where I can handle the pain without medication but I also get quite weak on my left side and can't carry heavy things or do the weight training and more intense cardio I enjoy at that time. Maybe taking it easy for a few days and not carrying things may work for you too. It's an awful feeling, so you have my sympathy. I've asked my gynaecologist but he hasn't given me any reasonable answers why.

hello there! there's little banks of nerves all over your body, your pelvis, hips and upper thighs have lots. i had endo taken off one of the major blood vessels up my leg and struggled with intense tingling and numbness afterwards that comes and goes throughout the month. before that lap i got it too as the endo was pressing. it's not "normal" or okay but certainly something that a few people in the endo community sympathize with, you are not alone :)

(also unfortunately, i think this is a sensation you're a bit stuck with as mine has never went away since!)
