I have an ultrasound booked for Thursday which my doctor referred me for urgently (4 weeks ago🙃) as she is worried I may have an ovarian cyst on the verge of rupture (I know I have endo and adeno already). I am due on my period on Sunday but I am feeling a lot of pain like I am about to come on early so if this does happen - has anyone else had a transvaginal ultrasound during their period? And, if so, was it okay or was it awful? Obvs because I have endo my periods are horrific already but is this gonna make it worse??
Thanks

I had an extremely heavy period for one of my ultrasounds, with big clots coming out while it was happening. They were completely unfazed and said "well this is why you're here". I'd already had my adeno diagnosis by then but they were able to confirm my endo. I agree with bluebug, being on my period helped them identify a lot more that was going on.
I had an ultrasound absolutely fine despite having both and struggling with internals etc. So hopefully you will be ok. I was bleeding when I had mine but had been going on so long j didn't know what my period was or just bleeding. Sorry that doesn't help you. Fingers crossed it goes ok. X
Yes. I did an endovaginal ultrasound during menstruation, while the ovary was breaking and there was 1 cyst of 10 cm, cracked. I was operated on in a few days as an emergency. The evography didn't hurt. I mention that it depends on which doctor does the ultrasound. 3 days ago, he did another ultrasound and it hurt a lot, but at the next doctor it didn't hurt even though I was on my period.
